New Power Technologies has successfully deployed and validated Energynet power system simulations in regional transmission/distribution systems comprising over 240 distribution circuits, spanning nearly 1,000 square miles, and incorporating over 4,800 field data points monitoring 16 different variables. Utility systems have included Silicon Valley Power, Southern California Edison, and Sacramento Municipal Utilities District. Demonstration of the Energynet simulation was made possible through a series of Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) demonstration grants from the California Energy Commission over six years totaling over $5.5 million.
